WHAT IS ICAS
I.C.A.S. - Indian Council for Astrological Sciences is a regd. body under the registrar of societies.
Founded by the 'Father of modern Astrology'- Dr. B. V. Raman ji in 1984, the council is tirelessly working towards the research of the lost & hidden treasurers of our vedic sciences. The council has grown to 50+ chapters & centers all over India and a similar endeavor 'American College of Vedic Sciences' in USA. The council & its huge team of faculty members & researchers has been working under the expert guidance of stalwarts like Sh. S. N. Kapoor, Sh. A. B. Shukla, Smt. Gayatri Devi Vasudev, Sh. Thareja and numerous stars of astrology. Iconic Gurujans like Late Sh. M. N. Kedar, Late Dr. T. S. Vasan, Late Dr. Lalita had dedicated their life for the research of Astrology. Their papers, books & knowledge have always been a path light inspiration for ICAS researchers through Guru-Shishya Parampara. The council is determined to spread the Vedic Knowledge through its Chapters to clear the 'bhrantis' in the society and establish it as a proper science. what is the minimum academic qualification
Candidate should have done High School. A sound knowledge & interest in mathematics, history & social science will be a helpful trait.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE FOR ADMISSION
Candidate should be minimum 18 years old. There is no upper age limit.
What is the course duration
Jyotish Praveen & Visharad are for 2 semester (total 1 year))
Vastu, Hast Samudrik & Nadi courses are 6 month Praveen and 6 month Visharad course what is the course fee
All centres of ICAS promote research and centres are managed on run-cost-basis. Fee includes
1. Lifetime Council fee 2. Exam fee 3. Course fee (This may vary from centre to centre) what is life membership & why should i take it
Only a Student or Life member of ICAS can be eligible for studies in a centre.
Being a life member, you are eligible - - to attend any seminar, function organised by ICAS at Local or All India Level - for entry at these events for free or at a bare minimum cost. - to become a faculty at any centre depending on your expertise & experience - to participate & present your research papers at academic seminars - to attend AGM held annually, cast your vote & present your ideas WHAT ARE THE CRITERIA FOR ADVANCE COURSE
Candidate must have passed basic & all prior courses.

Candidate can join Advance Course subject to various conditions.
1. If a candidate has passed Basic course (from other institutes) considered equivalent by ICAS 2. If a candidate passes criteria related course exams 3. Candidate has to clear an interview in accordance with ICAS norms. 4. Direct admission to advance / research course is subject to Recommendation by Chapter and Approval by Council. |

How to apply for the ICAS examination?
The candidates aspiring to appear for the ICAS examinations must apply digitally on ICAS Academic Portal-
1. Go to → ‘Apply for Examination’ tab on your profile on the page under Student Login of the ICAS portal. 2. Select the appropriate options and submit the application. You will get an e-mail confirmation. You can also check the status of your application under the "My examination application" tab. The admit cards are made available at least 1 month prior to the date of commencement of examinations. What is the last date for applying for the examination?
The students must submit their applications on or before the last date
For January Session - 15th April For July Session - 15th August How many course examinations can I apply for in an examination window?
The students are allowed to apply for more than one examination provided if they are enrolled themselves on the respective course. The course enrolment should have been approved by the concerned Chapter Chairman.
Separate application for each Course/Exam opted should be submited. You are allowed to apply for one Jyotish Course [Jyotish Praveena, Jyotish Visharada] and one non-Jyotish course [Nādi, Hasta Rekha, and Vāstu] in any examination schedule. I have not enrolled for ICAS courses can I take the examination?
No. It is mandatory for all students to go through the course enrolment process to become eligible to apply for exams.
What is the process involved in ICAS application?
It is a simple process. You need to select your options for the following points and submit the form.:
1. Name of the course you are opting to take in the examination. 2. Name of the chapter. 3. Language 4. Online or Online Mode I made some errors while applying for the examination. How do I rectify the form?
Your application is visible under the ‘My Exam application’ tab on your profile on ICAS Academic Portal. You have the option to edit the form till such time your chapter chairman approves the application.
If the chapter chairman has approved the application, the request may be made to the COE office through the Chapter for revocation of application to effect the correction. Any request received after the stipulated cut-off date shall not be entertained. I HAD applied for Praveena/Visharada Semester I examination. Do I have to apply for the Semester II Examination?
Yes. The student who intend to appear for the examination must submit his application examination for every semester. The office of CoE will provision for examination based on the examination application submitted by students and approved by the chapter.
Can I ATTEMPT papers UNDER BOTH online and offline mode for a particular course? CAN I INTERCHANGE MY EXAM MODE?
No.
The students are allowed to take either online or offline mode. The option to select both modes for a particular course is not allowed. Students cannot interchange the mode of examinations. Students should take the examination in the mode applied for in the examination application. The logistics for holding an examination under such a changed scenario are not available and the system will not support post-examination processes. If anyone changes such modes and appears for examination, they may not get examination results. I have appeared for the Praveena OR SEMESTER 1 examination and awaiting the results. Can I apply for the NEXT examination?
Yes. You are eligible to apply for Visharada/Acharya examination. However, if you failed in clearing any subject of the Praveena examination, you should clear the backlog in the subsequent examination.
You are eligible to take Visharada/Acharya examination. However, if the examination schedule of Visharda 1st Semester conflicts with the schedule of examinations of backlog papers of Praveena, the candidate must take the backlog papers forgoing the examination of Visharda paper conflicting schedule of backlog paper. For Example, the candidate failed to clear the examination of Jyotish Praveena Paper III and becomes the backlog paper of Jyotish Praveena. The student may enrol himself for the Jyotish Visharada course and appear for the Jyotish Visharda examination. The examination schedule of Jyotish Praveena Paper III clashes with the date of examination of Jyotish Visharada Paper III. In such cases, the candidate must take Jyotish Praveena Paper III foregoing the examination of Jyotish Visharda Paper III. The results of Visharda papers shall be held in abeyance till such time the student clears all backlog papers of Praveena Examinations. What happens to examination fees if I don’t appear OR FAIL IN the examination?
There is no carry-over of credit of fees if the student is absent for the examinations. Students are allowed to take the examination in the subsequent examination session by paying Rs.150-00 per paper as fees for reappearing.
The same provision shall apply to the students who could not clear the papers in examinations. I AM FACING PROBLEM !
